FAQ

Made-to-Order (MTO)

Made-to-order pieces are cut + sewn to order, meaning there isn't any pre-existing inventory on hand. Once you place your order, the garment is fabricated based on the size, fabric, and other characteristics you select.

Please allow 1-3 weeks for garments to be sewn before shipping.

Due to the nature of their production, all made-to-order pieces are final sale. If you would like assistance in selecting a size, please reach out to info@softbodies.ca, and we'll be happy to help!

Sewing Patterns

Pattern files will be sent to you automatically upon purchase, in the form of a download link. All files are contained within a .zip folder, which will need to be extracted before viewing or printing.

To unzip the file, follow the instructions for Microsoft/Windows or Apple/iOS devices accordingly.

A4/Letter files can be printed at home, A0 files must be sent to a copyshop or equivalent large-format printer, and Projector files are for projector sewists.

Files are best viewed and printed via Adobe Acrobat Reader (free software).

Be sure to print at 100% scale, and measure the test squares on page 1 of your pattern to ensure accurate sizing.

All patterns are drafted for a base height of 5'3" (160cm), and come with instructions on how to lengthen/shorten things to suit your specific body.

Yes! All pattern pieces include seam allowance, so you do not need to add your own.

Usage Rights

Please make as many gift garments for friends and family as you'd like. All patterns contain nested sizes, so purchasing a pattern gives you access to every size.

It brings me so much joy to know that my patterns are being used in workshops!

Please buy an additional copy of the pattern for each student attending the class, and tag me in any promotional materials (I'd love to see how your projects turn out!)

For bulk orders (over 10 copies of a pattern), email me at info@softbodies.ca for a custom discount.

You may use SoftBodies patterns to sell commissioned pieces on a small-scale basis (5 or fewer commissions/year). Please buy one additional copy of the pattern for each commission.

Depending on the scale of production, we may be able to draw an agreement on the terms of usage rights. Please send me an email at info@softbodies.ca to discuss this further.
